Bonnie Glen Affric is considered by many to be Scotland’s most picturesque Glen. We will step back in time almost 500 years on this fascinating tour that combines scenery, history and nature into a wonderful excursion.
From Inverness we will drive along the banks of the Beauly Firth enjoying views of majestic Ben Wyvis in the distance. Soon we will enter wooded Strathglass and start a journey that is rated amongst the top ten tourist routes in the United Kingdom!
Glen Affric extends over some 15 miles and is the very epitome of a highland glen. Once the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest covered most of Scotland but now the largest surviving part of the forest is to be found here in Glen Affric. During our time in the glen you’ll have time to walk amongst the trees and step back in time to the last Ice Age! We’ll make an extended stop at the head of the glen overlooking Loch Affric so don’t forget your camera and walking shoes!
Our return to Inverness will take us through Drumnadrochit and along the banks of Loch Ness.
